Alysa attended Metropolitan State University of Denver and graduated with a major in Adult Fitness and Exercise Science and a minor in Nutrition. After finishing college, she completed an internship under Loren Landow (the strength and conditioning coach for the Denver Broncos) at Landow Performance (formerly known as Steadman Hawkins Clinic). The clinic is renowned across the nation for its years of experience in training athletes of all ages and levels of competition, such as the NFL Denver Broncos, The MLB Colorado Rockies, multiple Olympians, and elite college and high school athletes. After completing her internship, Alysa became the head strength and conditioning coach for Jeffco Performance Volleyball Club and was the head S&C coach for three years. During her time there, each player increased their verticals by two inches or more every year. Alysa is currently studying for her CSCS certificate and is certified in First Aid, CPR, and AED.
Alysa came back from playing professional volleyball overseas in Bosnia in 2017. She played for the club Bimal-Jedinstvo in Brcko. The team was champions of their league 10 years in a row and also competed in the Champions League in CEV. Prior to playing professionally, Alysa played volleyball at Metropolitan State University of Denver. Alysa has 12 years of experience in playing volleyball, five of which were played in college. Of those five years, two years were played at Division I school, Wichita State University, and the last three were played at Division II school, MSU Denver. During college, Alysa received many accolades for volleyball, including 2013 AVCA third team All-America, 2013 AVCA first team all-South Central Region, 2013 Daktronics first team all-South Central Region, 2013 second team all-RMAC, 2013 Colorado Premier Challenge all-tournament, 2013 RMAC offensive player of the week (Sept. 9), 2012 AVCA honorable mention all-South Central Region, 2012 second team all-RMAC, 2012 RMAC offensive player of the week (Oct. 22), 2012 Grand Canyon Invitational all-tournament, and 2012 preseason all-RMAC.
